Tournament format & information
The purpose of this tournament is to propose a competitive and entertaining premier league to unofficial metagames. If it wasn't already obvious, the general tournament rules and guidelines all apply here.
This tournament will feature 4 unofficial metagames: AG, 2v2 Doubles, NFE, and ZU. It will also feature 1v1 as a legacy slot. It will be a premier league format where 8 different teams will face each other in 8 intense battles each week. You can find more information in the info/admin thread, but the tier lineup is as follows:
- SV AG (2 slots)
- SV 1v1 Best of 5 (2 slots)
- SV ZU (2 slots)
- SV 2v2 Best of 5 (1 slot)
- SV NFE (1 slot)
When a team wins the week (at least 5 out of 8), they receive 2 points. 1 point if tie (4-4) and 0 if they lose. These points will determine which teams will reach the playoffs. If there is a tie, we will look at battle difference (only for the qualification in playoff). In case of further ties (or if the battle difference is still identical), a best of three will be organized between the two teams and they will receive an extension. One metagame will be picked by each manager, and each manager will also pick one metagame to strike. Additionally, each manager will submit a backup meta to strike in case their choice is the same as the opposing team's pick. The third format will be determined at random by the host from the remaining unpicked, unstruck metagames. In the event that the picks and strikes from each manager are the same, the hosts will determine both the second and third format at random based on the remaining options. All three metagames must be unique, so no format can be picked twice. Furthermore, every replay needs to be saved. Otherwise, battles won't count unless the opponent agrees on the result.
The manager and assistant managers signups will be open for around one week after being posted. After that, the player signups will be open for 1-2 weeks depending on signup numbers. If the managers' schedule allows it, the auction will take place on the weekend following player signup closure. Managers need to sign up with an assistant manager. The manager and their assistant are able to purchase themselves for 15,000 per person. The budget of auctions is fixed at 110,000 for a minimum of 11 players. The auction will take place in a room and will be linked in the four different rooms.
New to this edition of UMPL, trades will not be allowed due to reasons outlined in this thread - all roster decisions will be final, so draft carefully!
