Greetings all!
We here in the NU community have finally decided it's time for the inaugural edition of the NU World Cup!
Lets go over the details of the tour as stated in the discussion thread:
1. This tour will be played in the style of 2 divisions (Scarlet and Violet division) with an x number of teams per division. The amount of teams per division is TBD and will be determined based on the amount of signups. Furthermore, the amount of teams who make the playoffs will also depend on the amount of signups and therefore, teams participating. An example would be: if there's 8 teams altogether, that would mean 4 teams per division and the top 2 from each would make playoffs. Again, the number of teams is TDB and is determined by signups.
2. The tour will be played in a PL-style format. Meaning, the meta format will be either 6-slot or 8-slot and will be played like you would typically see in a premier league style format. A given team (region) plays the others in its division in a round robin style. In addition, the number of regions/teams that there will be is determined by signups also. If there is clearly not enough from one region, we may merge it with another or just unfortunately have to proceed without it.
3. There are 2 meta formats that could be played. The first is a 6-slot format where the following is going to be used:
3 SV, 1 SS, 1 SM, 1 ORAS
we will end up doing an 8-slot format where we'd use:
4 SV, 2 SS (1 suspect slot), 1 SM, 1 ORAS
The suspect slot for one of the SS slots would be without Silvally-Ground, Rotom-Mow, and Vileplume. We will let you, the community, decide in your signup posts as I will include an option to any potential SS player, whether or not you'd want 1 of those slots to be a suspect slot.
For US signups, we've determined the regions'll be divided into specific areas. Credit to the PUWC and their signup threads for including this in theirs.
NOTE: if signing up for a country in Europe, indicate it like this
