Dragon Dance Kommo-o makes for an excellent wallbreaker or sweeper, using its defensive capabilities to give itself opportunities to set up and smash through opposing teams. Thunder Punch lets Kommo-o hit Tornadus-T, Azumarill and Slowking for super effective damage, 2HKO-ing the former and the latter two after a boost as well. Taunt allows Kommo-o to put a stop to defensive answers wanting to use status moves to hinder its ability to sweep, such as Toxic or Recover from Toxapex, Roost from Zapdos, and Thunder Wave or Will-O-Wisp from Rotom-W. Leftovers gift Kommo-o very useful longevity, and when paired with Drain Punch its able to keep itself consistently healthy to defensively answer Pokemon such as Excadrill, Lokix and Ogerpon-C. Soundproof blocks opposing Clangerous Soul Kommo-o's Clanging Scales or Boomburst, giving it a much more favourable match up into it. Tera Electric is used to flip Kommo-o's match up the Flying-type Pokemon it fears such as Zapdos and Tornadus-T, letting it defensively check the two of them while giving Thunder Punch a STAB boost to help OHKO Barraskewda and 2HKO Toxapex and offensive Zapdos after Dragon Dance.

Dragon Dance Kommo-o typically find itself on bulky offense teams who love its durable defensive abilities and its offensive potential, becoming a great teammate for a multitude of Pokemon. Partners who can break through the opposing team like Azumarill, Hisuian Arcanine, and Excadrill are great choices, making Kommo-o's job at sweeping much easier while loving it's ability to take on Ogerpon-C, Lokix and Greninja's STAB options defensively. Other sweepers like Lokix and Greninja love Kommo-o's wallbreaking capabilities, helping them take apart the opposing team after they have been weakened by Kommo-o's onslaught. Hazard setters such as Tinkaton and Sandy Shocks compliment Kommo-o's sweeping and wallbreaking roles, bringing Pokemon like Hisuian Arcanine and Ogerpon-C into range of an OHKO from Drain Punch, and 2HKOing opposing Tinkaton and Iron Crown after a Dragon Dance and Spikes. Pivots such as Zapdos, Tornadus-T and Scizor are excellent teammates, giving Kommo-o set up opportunities on defensive Pokemon like Slowking, Rhyperior and Cobalion while they are able to handle some of Kommo-o's biggest checks like Hydrapple and Metagross. Scizor functions as both a pivot and an additional wallbreaker and sweeper that appreciates Kommo-o's ability to break through bulkier Pokemon like Toxapex and Zapdos for it, as Scizor gives it free entry on them while it helps take on Hydrapple.

(Will-O and Slack Off from Dirge to an extent too) Leftovers gift Kommo-o very useful longevity, and when paired with Drain Punch allow it to to keep itself consistently healthy to defensively answer Pokemon such as Excadrill, Lokix and Ogerpon-C. (May be worthwhile to add that you should be wary of random Play Rough on Oger-C. Could also mention Tera Steel as a footnote at the end since it lets you check that 100% of the time, but that's prob better suited for OO so not mandatory at all) Soundproof blocks opposing Clangerous Soul Kommo-o's Clanging Scales or Boomburst, (And Torch Song from Dirge) giving it a much more favourable match up into it. Tera Electric is used to flip Kommo-o's match up against the Flying-type Pokemon it fears such as Zapdos and Tornadus-T, letting it defensively check the two of them while giving Thunder Punch a STAB boost to help OHKO Barraskewda and 2HKO Toxapex and offensive Zapdos after Dragon Dance.

(The Dirge mentions seem especially useful since Taunt + Soundproof allows Kommo-o to be one of the few setup mons that's not completely and totally punked by Skeledirge. Would also possibly give Dragon Claw a mention as a choice over Thunder Punch since it improves the matchup into opposing Kommo-o while still being neutral into the Flying-types you want to hit, but again, may be better suited for OO.)
