Dual Screens (Grimmsnarl) @ Light Clay
Ability: Prankster
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 140 SpD / 4 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Taunt
- Foul Play

Grimmsnarl serves as the premier screen setter on Hyper Offense teams due to its ability Prankster and access to Taunt. Prankster allows Grimmsnarl to be bulkier than other screens setters by not needing to invest speed evs and allows it to set screens against speed boosted threats. Tera Steel is the best option for Grimmsnarl allowing it to resist Steel and Fairy, although using terastalization is uncommon. Foul play is the optimal attack for Grimmsnarl as it requires no Attack EV investment to function, allowing you to OHKO several Swords dance mons that try to take advantage of your passiveness and setup while they are at +2 such as Ogerpon Wellspring and offensive Garchomp. 140 Special Defense EVs allow Grimmsnarl to live two Moonblasts from Choice Scarf Tapu Lele while the rest of our EVs are dumped into physical bulk as most priority moves that can outspeed your Prankster screens are physical. Teammates that benefit from Grimmsnarl's utility are mainly setup sweepers that can blow through most teams if allowed multiple turns of setup such as Mega Gyarados, Gouging Fire, Volcarona and Dragonite, hard hitting wallbreakers such as Ursaluna, Iron Hands and Mega Mawile that can 1v1 almost anything with screens up and Stored Power users that can now set up multiple Calm Minds and have the added bulk to live super effective hits and possibly activate a Weakness Policy such as Mew, Iron Crown, Hatterene, Latias and Cresselia. Pokemon that give Grimmsnarl problems are strong Fairy attackers such as Choice Specs Iron Valiant and Tapu lele or Mega Diancie, defoggers that can 1v1 you such as Mega Scizor and Knock Off users especially ones with Dark typing making them immune to your Prankster Taunt such as Mega Tyranitar, Weavile and Hisuian Samurott. Good teammates to fix these matchups are strong Fighting types such as Urshifu Rapid Strike, Iron Hands or even Swords Dance Rillaboom which matches up well into all the Dark types and Fairy Resistances such as Pecharunt, Iron Crown, Volcarona and Mega Scizor.

Grimmsnarl serves as the premier screen setter on Hyper Offense teams due to its ability Prankster and access to Taunt. Prankster providing its status moves with +1 priority allow it to invest maximum EVs into its bulk rather than needing to invest in speed like most other screens setters and also allows it to setup screens later in the game against speed boosted threats. (I think prankster providing prior is just dex info. if you want to specify that grim is bulkier than other screen setters, feel free to reword this sentence) Tera Steel is the best option for Grimmsnarl as it either resists or is immune to any type that would damage Grimmsnarl super effectively. (just specify that you resist steel and fairy now. maybe also say it doesn't click tera often) 140 Special Defense EVs allow Grimmsnarl to live two Moonblasts from Choice Scarf Tapu Lele while the rest of our EVs are dumped into physical bulk as most priority moves that can outspeed your Prankster screens are physical.(the usual order we go through this is moves -> tera -> evs) Foul play is the optimal attack for Grimmsnarl as it is a high power STAB move and requires no Attack EV investment to function, allowing you to OHKO several Swords dance mons that try to take advantage of your passiveness and setup while they are at +2 such as Ogerpon Wellspring and offensive Garchomp. (i wont mind chunking this out since technically it's stab and you dont need to talk about stab) Teammates that benefit from Grimmsnarl's utility are mainly setup sweepers that can blow through most teams if allowed multiple turns of setup such as Mega Gyarados, Gouging Fire, Volcarona and Dragonite, hard hitting wallbreakers such as Ursaluna, Iron Hands and Mega Mawile that can 1v1 almost anything with screens up and Stored Power users that can now set up multiple Calm Minds and have the added bulk to live super effective hits and possibly activate a Weakness Policy such as Mew, Iron Crown, Hatterene, Latias and Cresselia.
