Since Magic Guard ignores the passive damage from entry hazards and status effects like poison and burn, it means that Clefable can effectively set up Calm Mind on passive checks. The choice in coverage on Calm Mind Clefable will depend on what it wants to beat. Thunderbolt will chunk and threaten Water-types like Tapu Fini and Toxapex, while also threatening Flying-types like Tornadus-Therian and Corviknight. Flamethrower will mean that Clefable longer threatens Water-types, to deal significant damage to Steel-types such as Melmetal and Ferrothorn. Thunder is sometimes chosen over the aforementioned moves due to the high chance of paralysis threatening checks such as Heatran while still allowing Clefable to hit the aforementioned Water-types and Flying-types. The choice between Life Orb and Leftovers is significant, as without the power boost from Life Orb, even Thunder Clefable will struggle to break through Toxapex who can switch in and use Haze to remove Calm Mind Boosts. Should Clefable choose to run Flamethrower, Leftovers is preferred for the added longevity. 60 Speed EVs allows Clefable to outspeed uninvested Corviknight, while maximum investment in HP and Defense with a Bold nature maximizes bulk check threats such as Weavile and Garchomp so Clefable can set up on them effectively.

Team Options

Calm Mind Clefable is a flexible win condition that often goes in tandem with teams centered around Spikes. Pokemon like Ferrothorn and Skarmory compliment Calm Mind Clefable since they act as checks to Pokemon like Melmetal and Kartana who could otherwise threaten to KO Clefable, while putting down Spikes which will wear down Clefable's switch-ins like Heatran and Melmetal. Another Pokemon that pairs well with Clefable is Dragon Dance Dragonite, who checks threats like Rillaboom while also acting as another win condition that takes advantage of Spikes. Swords Dance Scizor is a good partner to Clefable who can check threats like Tapu Lele and Weavile, while being a threatening sweeper in its own right with Swords Dance. Ground types like Garchomp, Hippowdon and Gastrodon are beneficial to Clefable since they check threats such as Heatran and Victini. Hippowdon and Garchomp hold the distinction of being able to set Stealth Rock, wearing down Pokemon that switch into Calm Mind Clefable such as Blissey and Toxapex.

Since Magic Guard ignores the opponents passive damage from entry hazards and the damage inflicted from status effects like poison and burn, it means that Clefable can effectively set up Calm Mind and act as a threat (the fact that it's a Calm Mind sweeper already implies that it's a threat, you should talk about how Clefable can CM up on stuff that rely on passive damage to beat the things they're supposed to check since you're trying to link both sentences together). The choice in coverage on Calm Mind Clefable will depend on what you are trying to KO it wants to beat (try to avoid using 'you' in analysis writing). Thunderbolt will chunk and threaten wWater-types like Tapu Fini and Toxapex, while also threatening fFlying-types like Tornadus-Therian and Corviknight (the interesting thing about Thunderbolt/Thunder is how it naturally threatens certain defensive cores like CorvPex imo, you can just add a sentence saying how this is notable because Water- + Flying- type defensive cores are common). Flamethrower will mean you no that Clefable no longer threatens wWater-types, but ensures you to deal significant damage to sSteel-types such as Melmetal and Ferrothorn. Thunder is sometimes chosen over the aforementioned moves due to the high chance of paralysis threatening checks such as Heatran while still allowing you Clefable to hit previously the aforementioned wWater-types and fFlying-types. The choice between Life Orb and Leftovers is significant, if you choose Thunderbolt as your coverage move, without Life Orb a +1 Clefable will have a roll to 2HKO Toxapex while a Life Orb boost will ensure Toxapex is always 2HKOed at +1 (My apologies for not clarifying this in our PMs: you only have a 27% chance to 2HKO Toxapex with Thunderbolt if you're running Life Orb, it's Thunder that gets the guaranteed 2HKO.). Should you choose to run Thunder or Flamethrower, Leftovers is preferred for the added longevity (and even then Life Orb gives you a guaranteed OHKO on Ferrothorn at +1 and a 91.8% chance to 2HKO specially defensive Corviknight). 60 Speed EVs will allows Clefable you to outspeed uninvested Corviknight, while maximum investment in HP and Defense with a Bold nature gives you opportunities maximizes bulk to check threats such as Weavile and Garchomp so Clefable can set up on them effectively, and maximum HP gives you the bulk required to begin setting up Calm Mind effectively.

Swords Dance Scizor is a good partner to Clefable who can check threats like Tapu Lele and opposing Clefable (probably better to mention how Scizor can share the burden of checking SD Weavile since max Defense Clefable isn't that great of a check to it, much less CM Clefable) while being a threatening sweeper in its own right with Swords Dance. Ground types like Garchomp, Hippowdon, and Gastrodon are beneficial to Clefable since they threaten and check threats such as Heatran (you can mention Victini here as well),. while in the case of Hippowdon and Garchomp hold the distinction of being able to set Stealth Rock, to threaten and damage wearing down Pokemon that switch into Calm Mind Clefable, such as Blissey and Toxapex.
