  • Terrakion fulfills a unique niche as a fast Fighting-type, capable of outspending and OHKOing common Fighting-weak Pokemon like Kyurem-B, Heatran, and Tyranitar. Terrakion, however, is held back by its susceptibility to speed control and Intimidate. It is also unable to significantly damage the bulky support Pokemon in the metagame, such as Jellicent, Cresselia, and Amoonguss. Finally, its Rock-typing gives it additional weaknesses to common types, such as Water, Steel, and Ground, thus making Conkeldurr and Scrafty a more consistent Fighting-type.
  • Stone Edge is Terrakion's strongest Rock-type STAB attack, notably OHKO'ing Thundurus. Rock Slide is an alternative that trades power for a consistent spread attack that can chip foes. Substitute blocks Intimidate drops and debilitating status such as Thunder Wave, while Taunt gives Terrakion utility against bulky support Pokemon that it cannot damage.
  • Lum Berry improves Terrakion's matchup against Thundurus by keeping it safe from Thunder Wave once, allowing Terrakion to set up a Substitute or damage it with its Rock-type attacks. Fighting Gem increases Terrakion's already high damage output by giving it a one-time nuke option, guaranteeing the OHKO on Ferrothorn.
  • Thundurus is an excellent teammate thanks to Thunder Wave slowing down faster threats for Terrakion, such as Latios and Kingdra. In return, Terrakion beats Kyurem-B and Tyranitar, two of Thundurus's biggest checks. Cresselia is another good teammate due to access to speed control and its ability to threaten Landorus-T, Hitmontop, and Conkeldurr. Rain teams benefit from Terrakion's ability to threaten Kyurem-B, Thundurus, Tyranitar, and Ferrothorn while Kingdra threatens Landorus-T. The duo of Kingdra and Terrakion also has strong STAB spread attacks that make it difficult for the foe to switch in to.

  • Terrakion fulfills a unique niche as a fast Fighting-type, capable of outrunning outspeeding and OHKOing common Fighting-weak Pokemon like Kyurem-B, Heatran, and Tyranitar. Terrakion, however, is held back by its susceptibility to speed control and Intimidate. It is also unable to reliably either remove or replace with significantly damage the bulky support Pokemon in the metagame, such as Jellicent, Cresselia, and Amoonguss. Finally, its Rock-typing gives it additional weaknesses to common types, such as Water, Steel, and Ground, thus making Conkeldurr a more consistent Fighting-type. theres also times where scrafty is a more consistent fighting-type so add it
  • Rock Slide is a spread Rock-type STAB attack that can take advantage of Terrakion's Speed to flinch the foe. this is veeery dex info, flinch chance should not be its primary use. are we sure we dont want to flip rock slide and stone edge? otherwise just explain rock slide as a move that chips foes Stone Edge is a stronger alternative that allows Terrakion to OHKO Thundurus. Substitute blocks Intimidate drops and debilitating status,(rc) such as Thunder Wave, and Intimidate drops while Taunt gives Terrakion utility against bulky support Pokemon that it cannot damage.
  • Lum Berry improves Terrakion's matchup against Thundurus by keeping it safe from Thunder Wave once, allowing Terrakion to set up a Substitute or dish out more damage damage it with its Rock-type attack. Fighting Gem increases Terrakion's already high damage output by giving it a one-time nuke option. guarantees OHKO on ferro Rock Gem is an option with Stone Edge to allow Terrakion to better damage bulky support Pokemon. surely nobody uses this either...
Rain teams benefit from Terrakion's ability to threaten Kyurem-B, Thundurus, and Tyranitar and ferro! while Kingdra threatens Landorus-T.
